The Reedsport/Winchester Bay area truly is the heart of the Oregon dunes. There’s so much to do. Located at the center of the Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area, which stretches from Florence to Coos Bay, Western Douglas County has it all for fishermen, golfers, beachcombers, ATV enthusiasts, horseback riders and just about any other recreationalists. The dunes are our “claim to fame,” but this charming coastal community also is home to miles and miles of undisturbed beaches, marvelous sunsets and abundant wildlife, 30 lakes, 14 developed hiking trails, 13 campgrounds, 11 beach parking areas and more than 10,000 acres of off-highway riding areas.
