A trip back in time, life in a tidewater town, the natural environment of the surrounding area and, new this year, exhibits from the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry — all are some of the spectacular displays of the Umpqua Discovery Center. The center also offers outreach programs throughout the year.The center is located in Old Town Reedsport at 409 Riverfront Way. Summer hours are from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., June 1 through Sept. 30; winter hours are from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Oct. 1 through May 31. Admission is $4 for children ages 6-15.Younger kids get in free. Adult admission is $8 per person, with a $1 break for seniors 65 and older. There are family discounts and group rates available and guided tours are available with advance reservations. The center’s exhibits are wheelchair accessible and wheelchairs are available at the museum.
