Reedsport can keep them busy at the Reedsport Skate Park. These days some families plan their vacations around skateparks and Reedsport’s park is a favorite destination for avid boarders. It is the largest skatepark on the Oregon Coast and has the only funnel shaped fullpipe in the world.

The skateboard portion of Lions Park on the east side of U.S. Highway 101 south of the Scholfield Creek bridge opened in the fall of 2003. It boasts 13,000 square feet of cool, fast fun. Locals boast the funnel-shaped full pipe is one-of-kind across the nation.

For hard-core skaters, the Concrete Rodeo tour competition returns Saturday, July 14. The Reedsport skate park is an annual stop on the national tour. The all-day event matches skaters in eight different age groups, which span 8 years and younger to 25 and older.

When it comes to safety, don’t forget the pads and helmets. Also, skatepark rules state no scooters or bikes are allowed.
