Published: Monday, May 5th, 2008 Have some pancakes Several of the service clubs in the Western Douglas area put on allyou- can-eat pancake breakfasts as fundraisers for their organizations. Others feature dinners or cook up some good old fashioned barbecue ribs, hamburgers or hotdogs.

Some even get competitive about it and dish up as much good-natured fun as they do food.

The Smith River Grange puts on a pancake breakfast on the first Saturday of every month and the Gardiner- Reedsport Lions Club, with the Reedsport/Winchester Bay Chamber of Commerce, will host a community barbecue at Hahn Memorial Park on Memorial Day.
