The Reedsport/Winchester Bay Chamber of Commerce pulls out all the stops when it comes to Memorial Day, sponsoring a Memorial Day parade and memorial service to honor veterans during Memorial Day Weekend.The U.S. Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center Marching Band from Twentynine Palms, Calif., will lead the parade at noon on Memorial Day, May 26. The theme for this year’s parade is “Honoring Veterans, Past, Present and Future.” The band also will perform at Pacific Auditorium on Sunday, May 25. A community barbecue and memorial service will follow at Hahn Memorial Park. The Green Beret Paratroopers from Fort Bragg, N.C., will jump into the memorial site with a 65-by-30- foot American flag.
